✅ DO’S

  • Bring your current NMJL card Don’t leave home without it — you’ll need your current NMJL card to play.
  • Dress in layers Every player in the ballroom seems to have a different body temperature! Ballrooms can feel chilly, so bring a sweater or light jacket to stay comfortable.
  • Bring an insulated cup with a lid We provide ice-cold water stations throughout the tournament, and a spill-proof insulated cup is a lifesaver at the table.
  • Bring cash You’ll want spending money for shopping, raffles, vendors, and charity events. Support the amazing causes and treat yourself while you’re at it!
  • Wear comfortable shoes You’ll be walking, shopping, socializing, and standing more than you think.
  • Bring a phone charger Between photos, texting new Mahj friends, and checking schedules, your battery may need backup.
  • Arrive on time Package pickup begins Friday at 6:30 PM. Please be in your seat by 7:15 PM — play begins promptly at 7:30 PM.
  • Plan ahead There is no shuttle service, so arrange rides via Uber, Lyft, or taxi and make dinner or entertainment reservations early.
  • Read the tournament rules Knowing the rules ahead of time helps keep play fair, smooth, and fun for everyone.
  • Show gratitude A smile and a thank-you go a long way. Please thank your fellow players, volunteers, vendors, and hotel staff who help make this weekend special.
  • Invite your friends! We still have a little room — registration information is attached!

🚫 DON’TS

  • Don’t wear perfume or scented lotion Many players have allergies or fragrance sensitivities that can trigger migraines or reactions. Please be thoughtful and fragrance-free.
  • Don’t forget your NMJL card No card = no play!
  • Don’t be late Please be seated and ready to play on time so we can keep the tournament running smoothly.
  • Don’t overpack fancy clothes Comfort wins! Cute, comfy, and layered is the tournament vibe.

One more “do”: do relax and enjoy the game — however you spell it. (And if you’re curious, here’s why we spell it Mah Jongg.)
